It's good to be on top

Do you remember the company AMWAY? It promised riches, and a better life for all who would sell, swear, and use their products. It turned out to be one of the greatest Pyramid Corporation's in the history of the planet. They promised that if you went with them that your life would "change" But the truth is many people lost their homes due to following that dream, quitting their jobs to only find that the average income from people selling Amway was $150.00 a month. In the end it was those who where on top that where living a good life. Flying private planes, living in large homes. It really turned out that selling to the masses really allows you to dine with the classes. But when did this country be come AMWAYRICA?

Success

I always hear people talk about their future, what it will look like and the lifestyle they are pursuing. People often say "I just want to be successful in whatever I do." You will often hear people define what that life will look like upon reaching that success. "As long as I live in a nice neighborhood and have a family I will consider myself successful." or "I want a big house with a view and sports car." The problem with this kind of mindset it that you are giving success a destination. "I will consider myself successful if..." Well what happens after you reach that goal. What happens after you accomplish those things but later something tragic happens. Are you still successful? According the plan laid out you would be successful because you accomplished those goals, but when life takes a sudden turn we don't look at it as if we are still successful but failures. See Success is NOT a destination, it is a tool in which we measure the amount of ones destiny fulfilled. So when things are going great it does not mean that you are any less successful it means that you are in a different season in your life. One Billionaire said "When I lost everything, I found my true calling. I knew that I was in the right places in the right time even when living in my car." The great Recession is one felt by all. But in these days lift your head up high and continue pursuing your destiny, if you are doing that you are truly living a successful life!

Story time...

There is something about storytelling that brings to life a connection among people. Storytelling allows us to be apart of something real or imaginary. Stories have shaped history, entertained since the beginning of time, and have been used to teach generation after generation. But to two Florida boys stories meant more then just fascinating tales, stories had a purpose.
Friends Mike Fretto and Chris Lewis set out to start a fashion company that would donate all proceeds to charity. Upon research Mike and Chris noticed that many charities were well established and they felt they had a higher calling to actually impact lives. A good friend of the boys who makes films brought to their attention that there is much that is needed to be done on a local level and many people where hurting and had stories to be heard.
The creation of Rosa Loves is truly remarkable. Rosa Loves tells stories of individuals and communities in need and each T-shirt is designed especially for them and is only sold until the need is met, and that's it. "As soon as the monetary goal is met, the shirts are discontinued" the website reads.
This is a perfect example of taking an interest such as fashion and turning into a great cause. Visit RosaLoves.com and order a T-Shirt! To find out more about this great company and to read about all the stories behind the shirts read through their FAQ page.

Blind Eyes

What started out as a film project ended as a movement that would change three young men's lives, and capture the hearts of millions.
Three SoCal Boys: Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole set out to Africa to film about the Civil War that has held the people of Africa captive for over two decades but what they found was not at all what they expected. Each night thousands of kids migrate into small towns in Uganda to avoid being captured by the Rebel Army (known as the LRA) The Boys found their war but not as they expected. When they returned they took the footage that they took and turned it into a documentary Titled: Invisible Children.
The film led to the birth of a the Non-profit appropriately named after the Boy's film. IC has started a bracelet campaign that raises money to get the homeless children off the streets and out of the rebels' reach. To purchase the video, bracelets or just to learn more visit the IC website at www.InvisibleChildren.com
